Bread Bowls

Ingredients

  • 2 (1 lb.) loaves of Rhodes frozen bread dough
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions

  1. Thaw each loaf in a gallon ziploc bag.
  2. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Slice the thawed dough into 6 pieces, and roll each piece into a ball.
  4. Place dough balls 4-inches apart on the baking sheet.
  5. Brush each dough ball with egg.
  6. Spray a large piece of plastic wrap with nonstick cooking spray, and lightly cover plastic wrap over dough.
  7. Let dough rise in a warm place until double in size, about 2-3 hours.
  8. Carefully remove plastic wrap.
  9. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  10. Cool bread on a wire rack.
  11. Cut center at an angle, and press the sides and bottom, creating a well for soup.
  12. Fill with your favorite soup, chili, or use as a bowl for dip.
